SUMMARY:Adapted Sports\, Recreation\, and Living Expo
DESCRIPTION:Helen Hayes Hospital\, in partnership with the Hudson Valley Chapter of United Spinal\, will host its annual Adapted Sports\, Recreation\, and Living Expo on Saturday\, June 27th from 11am-4pm in the Hospital’s Atrium. The special event is free to the community and will showcase adaptive equipment\, accessible recreation opportunities\, and a variety of programs and resources designed to support independence for seniors and people with disabilities. \nThis year’s Expo will feature over 40 vendors\, service providers\, and community organizations\, as well as representatives from our Hospital services\, who will offer hands-on demonstrations\, expert information\, and opportunities to engage with innovative tools and wellness programs. A food truck will be on-site for refreshments and raffles and merchandise will also be available for purchase. \nFor additional information about the event\, please contacted Adapted Sports Coordinator\, Peter Gagliardo\, at 845-786-4950.

DESCRIPTION:The 126th annual Helen Hayes Hospital Honors Assembly will celebrate the extraordinary recoveries and achievements of the hospital’s patients over the past year. This year’s ceremony will honor eight patients who have made outstanding accomplishments in their rehabilitation programs\, inspiring others along the way.\n\nThe Honors Assembly began in 1900 as a school graduation ceremony for children at the then pediatric rehabilitation facility. Star of stage and screen Helen Hayes McArthur herself presented the diplomas\, and later awards\, during her long history advocating for the hospital.
