118th Honors Assembly To Honor Hospital’s Patients on Sept 20th

August 13, 2018

West Haverstraw, NY – Helen Hayes Hospital will host its 118th annual Honors Assembly on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 1:30pm in the hospital’s atrium. The inspiring event coincides with the celebration of National Rehabilitation Week and recognizes the outstanding achievements of the physical rehabilitation hospital’s patients over the past year. This year’s ceremony will honor patients from Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Counties who have made outstanding accomplishments in their rehabilitation programs, inspiring others along the way.

The Honors Assembly began in 1900 as a school graduation ceremony for children at the then pediatric rehabilitation facility. Helen Hayes McArthur herself presented the diplomas, and later awards, during her long tenure advocating for the hospital. Today, the Honors Assembly serves as a celebration of the hospital’s evolving patient community, recognizing patients’ tremendous resolve and selfless support of others facing similar odds.

The public is invited to join our patients, staff, volunteers, local dignitaries, the Helen Hayes Hospital Board of Visitors and the Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation at this truly moving and inspirational ceremony. A reception will follow immediately in the hospital’s Noyes Conference Center. For more information, please contact the Helen Hayes Hospital Public Relations Department: 845-786-4225.
