Helen Hayes Hospital Kicks Off 2019 Adapted Sports & Recreation Season

West Haverstraw, NY – The Adapted Sports and Recreation Program at Helen Hayes Hospital is kicking off 2019 with a schedule jam-packed with new adapted sports and recreation offerings and long-time favorites for individuals of all ages.

Pre-registration is required for all activities by contacting the hospital’s Adapted Sports office at 845-786-4950. Equipment will be provided.

The Adapted Sports and Recreation Program at HHH is a four-season program that provides access to and education about adaptive sports and recreation activities for individuals of a wide range of abilities. The program is open to both patients of the hospital as well as individuals with disabilities living in the community. Adapted activities offered during the year include gardening, handcycling, skiing, sled hockey, rowing, sailing, kayaking, rock climbing, softball, basketball, yoga, and more.
