Helen Hayes Hospital has appointed Edward G. Hall, MD, to the position of Chief Medical Officer, effective September 2, 2024. Dr. Hall enters this leadership role at the specialty physical rehabilitation hospital with over 36 years of clinical and administrative experience, along with a deep commitment to patient-centered care and advancing the hospital’s mission of providing exceptional rehabilitation services.

Dr. Hall joined Helen Hayes Hospital in 2020 as Director of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, directing the operations of the facility’s Behavioral Medicine staff, as well as providing direct care to patients recovering from debilitating injuries and illnesses such as stroke, brain, spinal, and orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, and cardiopulmonary conditions. In addition, he served as President of the Hospital’s Medical staff prior to his appointment and continues to serve as chair of several committees focused on enhancing patient services, including the hospital’s Patient Experience Committee and Institutional Review Board.

Before joining Helen Hayes Hospital, Dr. Hall spent 20 years at Bergen Newbridge Medical Center, where he served in various roles, including Chief of Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Behavioral Health. He also provided ambulatory, outpatient, and emergency psychiatric services during his tenure. Dr. Hall received his Medical Degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed his Adult Psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at New York Medical College.
