Become a Volunteer

The Helen Hayes Hospital Volunteer Corps provides an array of services that benefit both patients and staff. Junior Volunteers aged 16 & 17 are welcome and encouraged to join our dynamic team. Volunteers serve in a variety of capacities, including:

  • Clerical functions throughout the facility
  • Gift Shop
  • Welcome Committee/Greeter Committee
  • Worship
  • Book Cart
  • Recreation Room
  • Performing Arts
  • Adapted Sports & Rec
  • Pet Therapy
  • Patient Library
  • Special Events

*Please note that some services may be on hiatus do to Covid prevention precautions.

Volunteers operate the hospital Gift Shop, which raises funds that go to support valuable patient programs and services.
