Holiday Gathering of Hope
November 20, 2012The community is invited to kick-of the holiday season by joining patients and staff of Helen Hayes Hospital at a Holiday Gathering of Hope on Wednesday December 5, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event is jointly sponsored the Helen Hayes Hospital Volunteer Corps and the Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation and will take place in the Atrium of the physical rehabilitation hospital in West Haverstraw.
The evening will include the lighting of holiday trees and candles, as well as holiday music and refreshments. Those who are able are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to support local North Rockland food pantries.
“In light of the tremendous damage caused by Hurricane Sandy in our area, the hospital wanted to reach out to our local community during the holiday season,” explains Eileen Andreassi, Director of Recreational Therapy and Volunteer Services. “The evening will be a lovely way to come together and celebrate the season while supporting our local food pantries and spreading the hospital’s message of hope.”
