November 3, 2023

Helen Hayes Hospital is pleased to announce that their Subacute Nursing Facility (SNF) and Transitional Care Unit (TCU) have once again received a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This recognition, announced October 25th through CMS’ Five-Star Quality Rating System, recognizes Helen Hayes Hospital’s SNF and TCU as top-tier healthcare services, based upon a demonstrated history of high-quality patient care, superior staff expertise, and excellent rehabilitation outcomes.

CMS’ Five-Star Quality Rating System was developed to help patients, families, and caregivers in the selection of nursing home facilities. Facilities are assigned an overall rating from 1 to 5, with five-stars reserved for facilities that provide care that is much above average quality. Facilities are also given separate ratings based on three independent factors: health inspections, staffing, and quality measures. The Helen Hayes Hospital SNF and TCU received five stars in each of these categories. Ratings can be viewed in detail at CMS’ Nursing Home Compare website: https://www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare.
