Hospital Offers Sled Hockey with the New York Rangers – Thursday, February 13, 2020

The Helen Hayes Hospital Adapted Sports and Recreation Program will once again offer its exciting sled hockey program in conjunction with the New York Rangers Sled Hockey Team on Thursday, February 13th from 7:00-9:30pm at the New York Ranger’s Madison Square Garden Training Center in Greenburgh, NY. The program is free and open to participants of all experience levels, and includes instruction and the use of all adaptive equipment.

Created as a joint effort of the New York Rangers and the Wheelchair Sports Federation, the New York Rangers Sled Hockey league provides adults and children with disabilities the opportunity to play adaptive ice hockey. Members of the New York Rangers Sled Hockey team, which competes in the Northeast Sled Hockey League, will be available at the sled hockey program on February 13th to provide participants with hands-on hockey instruction.

Space is extremely limited for this event and pre-registration is required. Adapted equipment, including all safety pads, will be provided. The Adapted Sports & Recreation Program at Helen Hayes Hospital is a 4-season program that offers sports and recreation opportunities to individuals with disabilities of all skill levels. Program offerings include sled hockey, rowing, golf, baseball, waterskiing, kayaking, handcycling, gardening, bowling, adaptive video gaming, and more.
