HELEN HAYES HOSPITAL TO HONOR LOCAL REHABILITATION PATIENTS – SEPT 19, 2017

September 1, 2017

West Haverstraw, NY – Helen Hayes Hospital will host its 117th annual Honors Assembly on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 1:30pm in the hospital’s atrium. The event recognizes the outstanding achievements of the physical rehabilitation hospital’s patients over the past year and will honor patients from Rockland, Orange and Putnam Counties who have overcome incredible odds during their rehabilitation journey, inspiring others along the way.

The Honors Assembly began in 1900 as a school graduation ceremony for children at the then pediatric rehabilitation facility. During her long history advocating for the hospital, Helen Hayes McArthur herself presented diplomas, and later awards, to the hospital’s patients. Today, the Honors Assembly has involved into a celebration of our evolving patient community, recognizing our patient’s tremendous resolve in the face of challenging circumstances and their selfless support of others in similar circumstances.

The public is invited to join our patients, staff, volunteers, local dignitaries, the Helen Hayes Hospital Board of Visitors and the Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation at this truly moving and inspirational ceremony. A reception will follow immediately in the hospital’s Noyes Conference Center.
